A Sells a bicycle to B at a profit of 20% and B sells it to C at a profit of 25%,If C pays 1500,What did A pay for it?
The CP is 125 for C, when CP for B is 100.
So, CP is 1500 for C, when CP for B = 100*1500/125 = Rs 1200
Similarly
The CP is 120 for B, when CP for A is 100.
So, CP is 1200 for B, when CP for A = 100*1200/12 = Rs 1000
Therefore CP for A = Rs 1000.
Answer.
Let the cost price of the bicycle for A be Rs x
Given A sells the bicycle at a profit of 20%
This becomes the CP for B.
Hence CP of bicycle for B = (6x/5)
Given B sells the bicycle to C at a profit of 25%
This SP becomes CP for C.
Given that CP of the bicycle for C is Rs 1500
Hence A paid Rs 1000 to buy the bicycle.
S.P = 1500;B profit%=25 %
=> C.P for B = 100 *1500 = 1200
125
=> C.P for B = S.P for A = 1200;profit% for a =20%
=> C.P for A = 100 * 1200 = 1000
120
