Why is that Corundum (Al2O3)  is not used in the extraction of Aluminium other than Bauxite (Al2O3.2H2O) as Bauxite is converted to Al2O3 through the Baeyer's process?

Ans: Extraction of Aluminium from Corundum involves expensive process, because of this reason Corundum is not used in the extraction of Aluminium. Prefer Bauxite over Corundum.
