The largest bryophytes ever known are  Dawsonia species Fontinalis species.
Bryophytes are the plants which lack certain characteristics of higher plants. These include mosses and liverworts. Some of them possess leaves and stems but many of them have flattened thalloids. They have to be small due to their method of reproduction. It is limiting and successful in tiny plants. The largest bryophyte only ever reached around 65cm in height.
