Liverworts are a group of small, mat-like, non-vascular plants that occur in diverse habitats such as banks of streams, marshy ground, damp soil, bark of trees, and deep in the woods. The plant body of liverworts is thalloid, e.g. Riccia, Marchantia.
The leafy members have tiny leafy-like appendages in two rows on the stem like structures. Liverworts like all bryophytes hae two forms of reproduction, Asesxual or vegetative reproduction and sexual reproduction.
