Ploidy is the number of sets of chromosomes in a biological cell. As per ploidy cells are divided into haploid cells and diploid cells.
*Diploid number is made up of two complete haploid sets of homologous chromosomes (2n). Diploid cells are the cells which possess diploid number of chromosomes. Diploid cells reproduce by mitosis producing two exact copies of chromosomes.  Diploid cells are all mostly somatic cells except for gonadial cells. Some examples of  diploid cells are skin cells, blood cells, muscle cells etc.
