CBSE: Assessment Scheme for Class X Board Examination for Vocational Courses Remodelled

CBSE Assessment Scheme for Class X Board Examination for Vocational Courses Remodelled

CBSE has remodelled the assessment scheme of class X board examination for schools offering vocational subject as compulsory subject under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The new assessment scheme will come into effect from the 2017-18 academic year, a circular dated 9th March, 2017, said.

As per the new scheme, students will be required to study languages, science, mathematics, social science and an additional vocational subject. Before the decision came students had to compulsorily study 5  subjects; however now they will need to study six subjects. If a student fails in any of three elective subjects, namely maths, science or social science, then it will be replaced by the elective subject. The result of the board examination will be computed accordingly. However, if a student desires to reappear in the failed subject, they can take the compartment examination.
