European Startups Transforming Education

Investments in edtech companies have grown exponentially in the European Union in recent years. A staggering $1billion was invested in European edtech companies between 2014 and 2018. This is a significant increase for a young and upcoming industry that is leveraging technology for educational purposes.

Listed below are the five major startups that are transforming the education space in the European Union.

OpenClassrooms: Founded in 2013, OpenClassrooms is an online education platform that offers targeted courses to students to aid them in getting their dream jobs. 

Lingvist: Founded in 2013, Lingvist aims at building a tech-driven language platform to help students learn a new language. 

Pi-Top: Founded in 2014, this London-based company focuses on promoting STEM education through innovative learning solutions.

Teacherly: Founded in 2015 in London, this teacher-centric platform aims at helping teachers improve their skills by providing them with interactive tools to prepare lessons.

Ironhack: Founded in 2013, this Madrid-based company aims at creating a valuable network of next-generation data analysts, UX/UI designers and web developers for potential tech entrepreneurs through coding and web design boot camps.
