EY STEM Tribe App to Promote Education for Girls

Global consultancy firm Ernst & Young (EY) recently launched a mobile platform called EY STEM Tribe for girls aged between 13 and18, as part of their Women in Technology movement. The mobile application, developed in collaboration with Silicon Valley-based Tribal Planet, seeks to provide a base in STEM-related subjects for girls and encourage them to pursue careers in technology-related fields. The platform will provide STEM education to over 6000 girls across 45 government schools in Delhi NCR.

The mobile application which was launched on 12 October is available in India on both Android and iOS devices. The application presents STEM subjects in an entertaining way through gamification. It also includes modules on inspirational stories of women who pursued careers in STEM.

The curriculum developed in collaboration with leading educational institutions around the globe includes lessons on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing and blockchain as well as topics such as climate change and space exploration.
