Irish Edtech Firm Prodigy Learning to Open its New US Office

Prodigy Learning, a Dublin-headquartered education technology firm, has announced the opening of its new office in New York City. It was founded 20 years ago and presently has offices in Dublin, London and Sydney.

The company has expressed interest in entering the US market with the launch of its new programme, Coding in Minecraft. It entails a computer science curriculum, skills assessment and credentialing programme. Following its launch in the US, it will be distributed by Certiport, a Pearson VUE business leader, to 12,000 authorised testing centres worldwide.

According to its CEO, Andrew Flood, the US education market offers a wide range of opportunities, considering the growing demand for digital skills, such as coding. With the US school-going population hovering around 56 million, new innovations are bound to create a huge market for them in the coming years. This, in turn, will provide them with the much-needed impetus for international expansion and diversifying their customer base.

The company was recently announced as Certiport’s EMEA Partner of the Year 2019 and received the Small Firms Association’s Exporter of the Year Award in 2019.
