NCERT Textbooks to Replace GCERT

The Gujarat government mulls over replacing the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) textbook and curriculum with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks in grades 3, 5 and 7 across the state from the academic session 2018.

Following the debate over effectiveness of Gujarat state board textbooks followed by poor performance of students in medical and engineering entrance exams. The replacement would be implemented in Gujarati medium as well.

 

UP Schools to Switch to NCERT Curriculum

From the next academic session, schools in Uttar Pradesh will switch to NCERT curriculum. The move attempts to improve the ailing education system in the state. The schools will adapt to the learning outcome to NCERT norms and abide by the Right to Education Act rules.
