Candidates can switch medium at online AIEEE 2012
NEW DELHI, 6th December, 2011:- Candidates appearing for the online examination at the All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2012 can answer the questions in both English as well as Hindi. According to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which conducts AIEEE, the medium of examination is English and Hindi both. Candidates can also switch medium as many times as they want during the examination as every question will appear both in English and Hindi, it said. This facility is available even if a candidate has chosen either language as the medium for the exam. This is expected to help candidates who might find it difficult to understand a question either in English or in Hindi. Another advantage of opting for the online mode at the examination is that candidates get flexibility in choosing the day and the shift for the examination. The online exam is to be held between May 7 and 26, 2012, and twice every day – one shift from 9 am to 12 noon, and another shift from 2 pm to 5 pm. So candidates get to choose the day on which they want to appear for the examination, as well as the shift in which they want to appear. However, the CBSE has clarified that a candidate will get his choice of date and time depending on the availability of seats on that particular date and shift. The option shell will be made available in the month of January 2012, it said. The CBSE will conduct the offline AIEEE examination on April 29, 2012, and online examination from May 7 to 26, 2012. Applications can be submitted only online, and the last date for online registration is December 31, 2012.
