No negative marking in Maharashtra CET from 2018

There will be no negative marking in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) from next year onwards, from when it will closely follow the pattern for the JEE, it has been reported. Those who appear for the state entrance exam will not be subjected to negative marking, whereas the difficulty level of the questions asked in the exam will be nearly at par with questions asked in the JEE. Just like the JEE, students will have to prepare by studying the syllabus prescribed for classes 11 and 12.

The clarification, which follows the earlier announcement (in March 2017) of change in examination pattern, has been widely welcomed by both parents and students in the state.
