Notes On Introduction to Biomolecules - CBSE Class 12 Chemistry
Living organism is a collection of organic molecules. All organisms are composed of one or more cells
The compounds in a cell mostly consist of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus, and sulphur.
The study of cell at the molecular level is called biochemistry.

Biomolecules:  Biomolecule is chemical compound that naturally occurs in living organism and which are necessary for the existence of life.
Biomolecules are bigger and complicated
Based on molecular mass bio molecules are classified into two types.
They are,
Micro molecules and macro molecules

Micromolecules:  Micromolecules are biomolecules whose molecular mass is < 1000
Ex:  Sugars, Vitamins, Lipids

Macromolecules:  Macromolecules are biomolecules whose molecular mass is > 1000
Ex: Proteins, Polysaccharides &nucleic acids.
