Wh-interrogatives sentences begin with a wh-word and call for an open-ended answer. A yes or no answer isn’t appropriate for WH questions, nor does the question provide alternative answers.  The answer can be a simple response or complex explanation. They elicit an open-ended response.

Examples of Wh-interrogative sentences:
  1. What are writing?
  2. Where do you live in India?
  3. Who is playing the piano?
  4. When do you get up Sundays?
  5. Which actress do you like best?
  6. Where do you work?
