There are different kinds of adverbs expressing different meaning. The following are some of the common ones:

1. Adverb of quality tells us how something is done or happens.

    E.g .She sang sweetly

2. Adverb of place tells us where something is done or happens.
    E.g. We can go upstairs for lunch.

3. Adverb of time tells us when the action takes place.
    E.g.We will go after my friends come.

4. An adverb of frequency tells us how often something is done or happens.
    E.g. He hardly ever goes to see a movie.

5. An adverb of degree tells us the level or extent that something is done.
    E.g The accident victim nearly died from his injuries.
