Phrases - Classified
 Phrase is a group of words (within a sentence) without subject and verb.It does not make complete sense.Depending on the key word in a phrase can be classified into following cataegories.
  • Noun Phrase (NP)
  • Adjective Phrase (AP)
  • Verb Phrase (VP)
  • Adverb Phrase (AdvP)
  • Prepositional Phrase (PP)

Noun Phrase:
If the key word in a phrase is a noun, then it is noun phrase.
Example:
Nikhil is wearing a beautiful blue shirt.(as noun/object)
The lady with a long brown hair is waiting at the bus stop.(as noun/subject)

Adjective Phrase: If the key word in a phrase is an adjective, then it is an adjective phrase.
Example:

Mohan is wearing a nice green shirt.(modifies shirt)
The lady with long brown hair is singing a song.(modifies lady)
Harish gave me a jug full of juice.(modifies jug)
