Arunachal Pradesh govt turns a bus into the classroom

The Lohit district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has set an example by turning an abandoned bus into a classroom. The school has made a classroom set up in the old bus with tables, chairs and other academic stationaries. Subject teachers are also imparting lessons to them simultaneously.

“The ‘school on bus’ idea has been well-received by the students of a government-run primary school at Thowang village in the district, and they seem “more excited than ever,” said a district official.

Students choose to leave schools because of space crunch. The number of dropouts has remarkably increased for the same issue. As the schools lack space, juniors are sometimes forced to sit with seniors in the same class, with subject teachers imparting lessons to both the classes simultaneously.  The initiative has not just solved the problem of space crunch but it also infused an element of fun in the whole process with its unique approach.
