Education will be priority in XII Plan
Two sectors that need to get a boost to make India a force to reckon with on the international scenario are education and health. Efforts need to be made to take education to every class of society and all classes of the country to put the country truly on the path of progress and prosperity. It is a welcome step that the Union Government is contemplating to make education and health the key priorities sectors for the XII Five-Year Plan.
Once aspect of education in the country that it will improve is the percentage of students who go to college after finishing school. The percentage of students who reach college after completing their school education has to increase. At present, out of every 100 students, only 15 reach college. In the developed world, the percentage is more than 30. The government aims to increase this percentage from 15 to 30 by the year 2020.
