CBSE to make foreign languages elective

CBSE to make foreign languages elective

The Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to change its three-language formula. The three-language formula will continue up to Class 10 from the next academic year. At present, students can choose a second language other than English following Class 8. From the next year, there will be no options for foreign languages. As a result, students will have to learn such languages as ‘fourth languages’.
