South Korean edtech firm to expand its operations in Asia

Mathpresso, the South Korean edtech startup and the creator of AI-driven education app Qanda, has raised $14.5 million in series B round led by Legend Capital.

Two new investors, InterVest and NP Investments, have also participated in the round along with existing investor Mirae Asset Venture Investment.

Mathpresso’s Qanda App is currently available in five languages – Korean, Japanese, English, Vietnamese and Indonesian. Students can take quick photos of questions and upload them on the app.

The app allows students to submit their questions directly to academic tutors. These are then immediately added to the app’s database, creating a compilation of questions and solutions that can be accessed by students through the app’s search engine. This consequently improves the platform’s AI capabilities over time.
