CBSE’s Initiative to Beat Students’ Pre-Exam Stress

Thoughtful of the stress students and their parents grapple with prior to examinations, CBSE will be providing psychological counselling to students of all CBSE-affiliated schools and their parents.

To benefit from the counselling students can dial a toll-free number 1800 11 8004; also online counselling will be available at counselling.cecbse@gmail.com.

The helpline will be functional from February 9 till April 29 between 8am and 10pm. A group of principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools, psychologists and special educators will participate in providing tele-counselling to address students’ exam related psychological problems. Four special educators will also be part of the initiative to address the problems of the differently-abled students. The facility will also be available in Nepal, Japan, Saudi Arabia (Al-Khobar, Jeddah), Oman, the UAE (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah), Kuwait, Singapore and Qatar.

This is the 20th consecutive year when the CBSE will be providing this tele-counselling to students during the examinations.

Exam-related stress is a problem that affects many students, often taking a toll on their academic performance. CBSE’s appreciable endeavour will help such students address their problems and consequently help them take the exams in a relieved manner and with greater confidence.
