Delhi High Court asks CBSE to offer re-evaluation to all students

The Delhi High Court has directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to re-evaluate the answer sheet of any student who appeared for the class 12 examination this year and requests for re-evaluation.

According to the court, the relief should not be given only to the students who had filed a petition for the purpose, but to all students in a similar situation.

It asked the CBSE to accept re-evaluation applications for any subjects that the students wish to seek re-valuation in.

Earlier, four students had filed a plea against a CBSE notice that limited re-evaluation requests to 12 subjects and 10 questions per subject only. It also stated that revised mark sheets would be issued only if there was an addition of five marks or reduction of one.

The court struck down these conditions and these would no longer be applicable to students seeking re-evaluation.
