ISC students to get fewer choices in maths and science papers

From 2018, maths and science question papers will give fewer choices to ICSE students. That will make it necessary for students to have a wider grasp of the subjects.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has introduced the changes to help the students improve their chances of clearing national-level entrance tests. This should also bring the maths and science papers closer to the format followed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Specimen question papers have been uploaded on the CISCE website. Details of the marks break-up and the new question pattern have also been provided.

The board expects the restructuring to reduce the flow of science students to CBSE in class 11.
